Skal is a great restaurant that is a must-visit whenever my family vacations in the area. The menu is varied with lots of unique twists on classics. An example is the maple-marshmallow sauce that comes with the sweet potato waffle fries - my kids couldn't get enough of it! (Who am I kidding - neither could I.) The portions are enormous, so much so that I always forget to leave room for dessert! The appetizer menu is filled with great pub fare, ranging from fried pickles, to Dixie rolls (their delicious take on a fried egg roll/cream cheese wonton hybrid), to Minnesota Nachos (seriously - just try them). The burger entrees are all huge, appropriately messy, and wonderfully flavorful. On our most recent visit I had the Chili Cheese Fry burger, which had the perfect amount of heat - enough to make me sweat a little, but not so much that it overpowered the flavor. To top everything off, the place has the most solid beer list in the area, and the service has always been consistently great. This is a high-quality restaurant in a small town setting. Do yourself a favor and drive over to Vergas to check out Skal!

Wonderful food, atmosphere and service. Great options for fries/sides and other types of meal choices. A pretty simple menu (and I mean that in a good way!) but a great variety! Got the Cajun chicken and it was delicious! Enough for 2 meals for me.

Awesome stop after a long day of fishing. Loved the Ruben and the sweet potato fries came with icing which was amazing.

Small town bar, great food. We had the smoked brisket sandwich and bacon black and blue burger. Both delicious. They have a homemade marshmallow sauce that come with their sweet potato waffle fries that is nice and sweet... watch out diabetics!

Great place the food was great!. Onion rings are huge Dixie rolls are tasty. Philly is huge, and if you like blue cheese the bourbon blue cheese burger is fantastic. Definitely a great food spot highly recommend!

Lobster Chimichaga was amazing! And my husband had the plain chimichaga and loved it. Very good food with great service. We'll definitely be back.

I loved this place because they were so accommodating. I was in town for a wedding and we ended up switching tables 4 times due to our group just getting bigger and more people joining us, and the staff just went with it and helped us combine tables and made sure they kept coming back to check up on us. They were great. I recommend getting the Minnesota Nachos to share, they were amazing!!!

Excellent ambiance and can feel the genuine thought and care of all aspects of the business by the owners through the quality of food & drink selection and overall experience. Great option while visiting the lakes area!
